Coach Instructions for Background Check, SafeSport, and Concussion Protocol

 

 

New as of July 14th, 2020, IYSA has transitioned its background check and coach certifications from SportsConnect to Player’s Health.

 

IYSA’s online background search management company is JDP via the Player’s Health platform. The IYSA must collect certain personal information including, but not limited to, first and last name, date of birth, home address, email address, and your social security number. If the search reveals a criminal history record and the IYSA cannot determine if the criminal history record belongs to you, the IYSA will order a name and address history which is done by using your social security number. The social security number is truncated when entered on the application. In addition to your social security number, this second step may require additional identifying information including a valid photo id or other documents to help us confirm or eliminate a criminal record match.

 

For returning coaches, IYSA has migrated your SafeSport certification to Player’s Health and you will only be responsible for taking the SafeSport refresher this year. They have also shortened the Concussion Protocol training and made this available through the Player’s Health portal as well. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY USED TO SIGN UP FOR SAFESPORT!

 

For all new coaches, you will be able to set up a new account through Player’s Health and complete all necessary requirements through one website.

 

Here are the steps to set up and complete all requirements through the Player’s Health website:

 

1.         Go to: https://landing.playershealth.com/iysa/

 

2.         Midway down the page click on “Start Your Background Check and SafeSport Training”

 

3.         Enter Full Name, Email Address, and League “Columbia Soccer Club”

 

4.         You will receive a separate email to the email address you provided from Players Health Protect. In the body of the email you will have the option to “Login”

 

5.         Complete the Waiver section

 

6.         Complete Background Check section. At checkout, utilize Columbia Soccer Club code: Please Contact [email protected] for code.

 

7.         Complete Training section. (Note: Only trainings you are required to take will show up.)
